The Squad

 

 RESCUE ENGINE 13

  • 2000 Smeal Pumper with HME chasis 
  • On duty April 2000
  • Waterous 1,250 gpm pump and 1,000 gallon tank
  • 1000' of 5" LDH (Large Diameter Hose) - used for suppling the engine with water from a hydrant or from another engine and attacking the fire using a portable master stream ("Stinger") flowing up to 1000 gallons of water per minute or supplying an aerial master stream (on a ladder tower or ladder aerial device)
  • 2 - 1 3/4" 150' Crosslays - Triple Layer Load
  • 2 - 1 3/4" 250' Rear Preconnects - Flat Load
  • 1 - 2 1/2" 300' Rear Preconnect - First 150' is triple layer, second 150' flat load
  • Emergency Medical Equipment: Engine 13 is a Paramedic Engine Company (has a paramedic assigned to the engine everyday) and carries ALS (advanced life support) and BLS (basic life support) equipment. 
  • Technical Rescue Equipment:  As a Rescue Engine Company, Engine 13 carries rope rescue, swiftwater rescue and RIT (Rapid Intervention Team - firefighter rescue/assistance) equipment.

1981 Sutphen Pumper

  • On duty October 1981
  • 1,250 gpm pump and 750 gallon tank
  • Has been refurbished and is now serving the Millersburg (KY) Fire Department as Engine 74 (will post photo as soon as I get one)
